Happy Desserts

Our Safeway bakers are out-doing themselves,
this is the most adorable cake!

Thomas the Train surrounded by big puffs of colorful frosting.

When my art gets a little too staid, I just need the kick-start of
fabulous decorated desserts.

Any day is brighter staring at sprinkles settled on rippled frosting.

And this lemon ripple bistro cake?  Simply divine.

More Cake

The Queen of ice cream cakes,

A Dairy Queen Candy Cane Chill, covered with soft pink frosting,
crimson sprinkles, and dribbles of fudge.

A gorgeous landscape frozen in time, it reminds
me of the unforgettable paintings by Will Cotton
(there are several tasteful and famous nudes, but I like the
candyland scenes best, sweets never look the same again).

The cake is defrosting, maybe left over
from the Christmas holidays...

Ice crystals begin to gently melt away.

Peppermint filling with a bit of something more (cherry?)
making fabulous shades of pink and fuchsia.

Just one more glamor shot and its time to eat.
The boys try out the cake at the TUV blog.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We have a green frosted party cake to celebrate.

The icing is kind of wild, almost disturbing like candy worms.

Multiple flavors and textures of icing draping everywhere.

A chunky corner piece with a cornice of green frosting.

The chocolate interior layers are especially decadent.

 Vladi arrives, tongue ready.

He is as mesmerized as I am.

Time to dig in!
