Themes

I have six themes that I'd like to express in my projects:
Vivid Life, Little Joys, Art-Show-to-Go, Kid Again,
Personal Palettes, and Paradise at Home.

Ideally, each book would address multiple themes...

...and also explore different journal styles: Memoir, Gift, Artist,
Educational, Naturalist, and Picture Book.

More Cake

The Queen of ice cream cakes,

A Dairy Queen Candy Cane Chill, covered with soft pink frosting,
crimson sprinkles, and dribbles of fudge.

A gorgeous landscape frozen in time, it reminds
me of the unforgettable paintings by Will Cotton
(there are several tasteful and famous nudes, but I like the
candyland scenes best, sweets never look the same again).

The cake is defrosting, maybe left over
from the Christmas holidays...

Ice crystals begin to gently melt away.

Peppermint filling with a bit of something more (cherry?)
making fabulous shades of pink and fuchsia.

Just one more glamor shot and its time to eat.
The boys try out the cake at the TUV blog.

Tulips are Here

Spring is reaching its zenith with tutti-frutti tulips.

Sunshiny butter-bright in the dewy foliage,
this may be the prettiest time of year.

Concept Mapping

After months of research and plenty of ideas rolling around,
it felt like time to organize thoughts into a long-term plan.

The potential projects (mostly books) and style resources
have been piling up and it makes a lot more sense when
they can be visualized in one spot.

Somehow one or two book ideas blossomed
into an even dozen, under four themes.

Big dreams of writing, illustrating, and designing
for years to come.

Pink Doughnut

Ode to a pink doughnut...

Fire engine red sprinkles dancing off one side...

Luscious pink frosting melts with the first nibble.

A brief glow before it all disappears.

Homespun Chic

Its hard to explain what's going on here, so lets focus on...

This gorgeous cupcake hat from the aptly named Megalina Cupcake.

A landscape of homespun chic by the best of Etsy artists.
