Dollop of Fuchsia

I like to give a shout out to any artist that somehow manages
to make something beautiful, wearable, AND inexpensive.
Marcia W. of Fused N Twisted on Etsy is the real deal.

A custom made lab-created ruby set in a hammered fine silver ring,
with an extra silver band as a gift.  Delivered in beautiful packaging.
You have to go see the price to believe it, this is the perfect gift.
Its gorgeous, and way prettier than most engagement sets
with a passionate punch of color.

It actually has a color change like any real ruby,
from hot pink in some lights...

...to richer rose tones in others.

This photo almost picks up the range from fuchsia to cranberry.

And most importantly, its super comfortable,
exactly the right size with a narrow band.

Plus a low prong-less profile that doesn't catch on anything
but still flashes color from the side.

 Even Tanji seems intrigued.
Everyone loves it when a little sparkle heads their way :).

Talisman

Going with me on my book-making journey this year is a
gorgeous ring from Satory Designs.
When I was little I had a costume jewelry "ruby and diamond" ring
that meant a lot to me and looked a little bit like the photo above.
I wore it happily and like a lot of other little girls,
anything seemed possible, everything was beautiful.

Well, now I have a new talisman that is merry (the ruby)
and bright (white sapphire) to travel with me.

Engraved inside with a reminder to be "Merry Bright."
(thank-you Kami!)

I'm wearing it on my right ring finger, the hand that does most of the
painting, writing and picture taking... to remind me to keep going.

The left hand?  Well, I have a favorite ring for that one too :).
