I've had a request for additional photos of my stellar star

ruby rings from Fused N Twisted, so here goes...

All stacked up, the four star cabochon rings

alongside the rose cut faceted ruby.

In bright light the stars are visible. The small round is almost facing the sun,

so its star is the best formed.

In the shade the rubies glow, but stars are not visible.

Here's a sunlight view...

Since all of the rings stack, there are so many possibilities.

Apparently its time to stop admiring these beauties

and give dirt-covered Vladi some love :).

Star Ruby Rings!

These are lab created rubies, transparent rather than the opaque pink
star rubies and milky blue star sapphires that are often found in jewelry.

The ring bands are hammered for extra shine, and are as beautifully

made as my other FNT ruby rings blogged about here and here.

The round stones are in smooth bezels and the oval stones are in

scalloped bezels, both variations look stunning.

The asterism effect is from small amounts of titanium dioxide impurities

that form tiny needle-like rutile structures which reflect light.

Usually this makes the stones look cloudy, these are the

clearest star rubies I've seen.

 Just like nature-created rubies, there are variations in color.

Rubies and sapphires together are called "corundum;" red

corundum is called ruby, everything else is called sapphire,
The ring on the left can be called either pink sapphire or ruby.

 This ring is showing the optical phenomenon of pleochroism,

different colors appearing from different angles, usually pink-red

(fuchsia) to orange-red (vermillion) in a ruby.

Ravishing Ruby Ring

After falling head-over-heels for my created ruby cab ring from

Fused N Twisted, I dreamed of a custom with a larger stone.

With the most amazing turn-around speed possible, this

10 mm rose faceted beauty in hammered fine and Argentium

silver has already arrived.  Thank-you Marcia!

 I'm having a blast trying it on with all my clothes and goodies.

Yep, it goes with aqua tones...

...perfect with a spring green rainbow...

This ring even has enough pizazz to hold its own

with a sparkly Sorrelli bracelet.

 The thin band is the perfect size for me, and comfortable enough

to wear every day.  Luckily, the delicate design has sturdy

underlying construction, built like the proverbial bridge.

Oh, and the colors, so spectacular ranging from bing cherry red...

 

 ...to hot pink and about every red and pink shade inbetween.

 Everyone can't help but take notice.

 The ruby rings even stack together for extra pow.

 But I'll probably wear them apart for double-handed bling.

 With my Mom's engagement ring and Grandma's wedding band,
multiple generations who love sparkly things.

Dollop of Fuchsia

but still flashes color from the side.
