My first book from Maryjo Koch was "Seed, Leaf, Flower, Fruit,"
but as soon as I saw how beautiful the illustrations were, I added...
Pond, Lake, River, Sea;
Bird, Egg, Feather, Nest; and
Dragonfly, Beetle, Butterfly, Bee.
The watercolors and journal style of format are exceptional, what I
haven't appreciated until now, is the artist's variations in hand-lettering...
Unique and thoughtful merging of content and font.
Many of the letters reflect back to classical scripts,
Others are just fun and sparkly new.
I wish my science textbooks had been this pretty,
and filled with interesting information!
